Deactivating stakeholders

Shareflo does not let you delete stakeholders, because stakeholders form part of your company’s historical share and option register. Instead, when you want to remove someone’s access, you deactivate the stakeholder.
When a Stakeholder Can Be Deactivated
A stakeholder can be deactivated as long as they have no current holdings.
This includes stakeholders who:
Used to have holdings, but later transferred them away.
Was previously awarded/allotted instruments, but those awards were later voided.
If the stakeholder has any current holdings, they cannot be deactivated.
What Happens When You Deactivate a Stakeholder
When a stakeholder is deactivated:
The stakeholder will no longer appear in the company’s stakeholder lists for operational workflows, including:
The user accounts of the stakeholder’s representative(s) are also deactivated, which removes their access.
Representatives will be notified by email if they:
Representatives who were never invited will not be notified.
How to Deactivate a Stakeholder
Step 1: Navigate to Stakeholders
Click Stakeholders in the left-hand menu.
Find the stakeholder you want to deactivate.
Open the stakeholder and click Edit.
Step 2: Deactivate
Click Deactivate.
Confirm the deactivation.
If you do not see the Deactivate button (or it is disabled), this is because the stakeholder has current holdings.
Pricing Note
You do not need to deactivate a stakeholder just because they have no holdings.
Deactivating a stakeholder does not reduce your subscription cost.
Shareflo charges are based on the number of stakeholders who have current holdings.
When Should You Deactivate a Stakeholder?
The main reason to deactivate a stakeholder is to remove access from their representatives.
