About Shareflo

Shareflo was built out of frustration — my own.

When my cofounders and I were scaling our last start-up, Hokodo, managing our cap table was a constant source of hassle. Carta was powerful, but it was extraordinarily expensive; and it was built for the US market, meaning half the platform features weren't even relevant to us. The UK-native alternatives felt clunky; in most cases they served completely different core purposes (e.g. fundraising, or option scheme design) with a cap table bolted on, so they lacked basic functionality that I needed. So we ended up doing what too many founders do: muddling through with spreadsheets and preying nothing slipped.

I knew the cost of cap table errors could be severe. So as our cap table grew in complexity - with multiple share classes, option schemes, growth shares, convertibles and so on - I eventually created an application in Airtable (a cloud-native database package). That at least gave me comfort that the data was correct. But Airtable isn't an employee-friendly application. Only I knew how to use it, and that doesn't really work when you're trying to run a 100 person company!

Built for the UK, from day one Shareflo is designed specifically for how UK companies work - Companies House compliance baked in, HMRC-aligned share schemes, and none of the US-centric assumptions that make tools like Carta frustrating for UK founders. Whether you're issuing your first ordinary shares or running a full EMI scheme, Shareflo handles it without requiring you to mentally translate everything into a UK context first.

Priced for early-stage reality Asking a seed-stage company to pay £2,500 a year for cap table software is, frankly, outrageous. Shareflo is priced so that equity management is accessible from the moment you incorporate — not just once you've closed your Series A.

Designed to be self-serve across your whole team As Hokodo grew, we saw a problem emerge. The cap table touches Legal, Finance, and People — but not everyone in those roles is a share scheme expert. That created a bottleneck: every question about strike prices, vesting calculations, or leaver provisions ended up landing with me.

Shareflo solves this with Flo, our built-in AI agent. Flo answers the questions your team would otherwise ask you — "what strike price should we use for this new option grant?", "can you check my vested share calculation for this leaver?" — so your team can move independently without getting the details wrong.

Shareflo also gives investors and employees their own self-serve access. No more chasing cap table updates for your VC's analyst. No more manually sending option agreements to employees who need them.

Built for the AI era We believe AI will become the layer that stitches together every business application a company uses. That's why Shareflo has been MCP-compatible from day one — so your equity data can connect seamlessly with the AI tools and workflows your team already relies on, without waiting for an integration that may never arrive.

Shareflo. UK equity management, built by founders who've been there.
